Event Management
Mainstream Catering have a long history of managing events both large and small. From Sports & Social Days for 700 with suckling pigs flown in from Belgium to Christening Parties at home for 30 friends and family. Nigel Scandrett, one of the partners, has over 40 years experience in creating and hosting events in London and throughout the Home Counties. His speciality is sourcing unusual and original venues.
From initial planning he will ensure continuity through to the day of the event. He will arrange a meeting, take and discuss your brief, then come back within a few days with suggestions and a detailed costing. It is imperative to have a good idea as to your budget. Even a ballpark figure will be useful.
Mainstream can provide a wide range of entertainment, from caricaturists to close up magicians, from steel to rock n’roll bands – see the ‘Entertainment Options’ page. There are just two items we never book. Comedians and Wedding Cakes! Far too personal. If necessary we will point you in the direction of an Agent or recommended Wedding shop.
On the day Mainstream personnel will co-ordinate the event. As an example this July we have created a ‘Behind the Scenes of a Racing Stable’ for trainer, Simon Dow, at his Epsom stables. Guests arrive for a Champagne reception, meet Simon, take a private tour round his stables, have drinks and a barbecue before crossing the road to the Grandstand for an evening’s racing and big name entertainment act afterwards.
